MUMBAI: Actor Sangeeta Kapure has her hands full with two shows at the moment, Sitara and Rajan Shahi’s Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke. The actor says that before she signed YRHPK, she made sure that there were no date conflicts between the two projects. “I was already doing the show Sitara but they asked me to come for the audition and I went. They liked it and so the producer asked me to come to the office and meet. I explained to him that I am already doing a show and he said that he was aware of everything but still he was considering me for the character. So, I said okay. I also spoke to the producer of Sitara and they happily said yes,” says the actor, who has been part of shows such as Kalash ek Vishwas, Pardes Mein Hai Mera Dil, Sarvagun Sampan, Devon K Dev Mahadev, Tere Liye and Savitri.
 
Talking about her role in the show, she says, “My character’s name is Nidhi and she has many shades. You will pity her but at the same time, she is very dumb and stubborn. She is scared of her Jethani (Sister-in-law). Nidhi wants everything in her hands but unfortunately, she cannot do anything because she does not have any power.  But she fights for husband and her children. She wants her own name and aura. The character has a bit of a grey shade with comedy. She does not try to be funny but whatever she does, it automatically becomes funny.”
 
The actor says that she relates a lot to her character. “In an emotional way, I am quite like my character. If I simply want to speak about something to someone, I am not able to do it. I am always scared for no reason. One more thing which happens in my real life also is that I go to do something and something else happens,” she says.
 
Talking about working with Rajan Shahi and Director’s Kut Productions, she says, “Fantastic, this is my first show with Rajan Sir. I have met them for the first time, but from the first day itself, I never felt that I am working with him for the first time. I feel so comfortable working here. The best part is that as an actor, the kind of freedom we require, we get that from our producer and director.”
 
Sangeeta loves shooting with the rest of the cast as well. “My favourite co-star is Chitrali Gupte and of course, Roopal Patel because they pamper me a lot. I do all the naughtiest things with these people. We have lots of fun together. They are very caring and lovable.  If in case I don't eat my food on time or I am sleeping at an odd time, they wake me up and insist that I have food. I love their loving and caring nature a lot,” she says.
