Ankur Verma who recently bagged a plump role in Star Plus’ upcoming show Humko Tumse Ho gaya Hai Pyaar Kya Kare recently lost a very near and dear family member.

The actor is presently in his home town Haryana to be with his family during their moment of grief.

Ankur lost his uncle (tauji), Ashok Kaka who had served Haryana as the Organization Minister from the Congress Party for ten long years. Ashok happened to be a high profile political personality and a socialite.

The man was shot dead on 22 April, with 3 bullets aimed at him. Two of the bullets hit his heart and one was aimed on his eye. Ashok died on the spot, and Ankur who was in Delhi shooting for his new show had to rush out to be with his family.

Says Ankur, “Yes, it is true that I lost my tauji few days back. He was an active political leader, and this shocking incident happened in broad day light when my tauji was jogging at 6 in the morning in a local park at Rohtak, my home town.”

Ankur adds, “Police is looking into the matter very aggressively and they have caught the three sharp shooters who shot him. But the main accused is yet to be caught.”

We hear that the cause of death apparently has a political angle.Ashok Kaka was extremely close to Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Ex-Chief Minister, Haryana.

Ankur also states that before entering the industry, he was also actively involved in politics along with his uncle.
