MUMBAI: To date, Anupamaa's makers have included a number of story twists to increase the family drama's entertainment value for its devoted audience. The team has now revealed the biggest narrative bombshell of Samar's (Sagar Parekh) death. However, rather than discussing Samar's function in this post, we shall speak about Anupama's role.

Did you know that the producers of Anupamaa had contacted a well-known actress in addition to Rupali Ganguly for the title role? We're referring to Neha Pendse, who recently made her television debut in May I Come In Madam 2 on Star Bharat. In a recent interview, the actress admitted that after she turned down Anupamaa, the producers chose Rupali instead.

Neha said when asked if she had ever turned down a part and afterwards regretted it, "Haa hua hai lekin mujhe nahi bolna uske baare mei. Bohot takleef hui baad mei jaan ke. Ek bohot hi previous, preliminary round pe Anupamaa ke liye mujhe pucha gaya tha. Becase Anupamaa show jo hai wo Marathi show se liya gaya hai, Aai Kuthe Kaay Karte. Toh I think the makers thought... I don't know what the makers were thinking, but (they said) aisa ek show aa raha hai from the Marathi show and mere ghar mei, my mom used to see the Marathi version of it. Toh mujhe bilkul maalum tha ki ye kya ho raha hai ye show mei. Toh I was like no I don't want to be a part of something like this."

The decision Nehha Pendse referred as "vinash kaale viprit buddhi," was made because she was unable to connect with the character of Anupama at the time.

She added, "Aged ki wajah se nahi, naa naa. It's not age related. Yaar, ye kaisi biwi hai jo khud ke bare mei bilkul bhi nahi soch rahi hai. Uska pati uske upar itne zulm kiye jaa raha hai, ye ladki bilkul bardasht kiye jaa rahi hai. Because mai aisi ladki nahi hun toh mera aisa ki roz aapko ek aisa character karna hai jisse aap bilkul bhi jude hue nahi ho. See, dekhiye, kya hota hai, samjho agar film mei maine aisa koi ek character kar liya, kitna maximum 20 din, 20 din mai uss character mei jee sakti hun, roz kaise jeeyu mai uss character mei, gussa aane lagega. Mera gussa uss character pe dikhega 'Tu Pagal hai kya ye sab kar rahi hai' (laughs). Toh ye ek conflict jo hai mujhe lagta hai mere andar tha pehle aur mai apna ek personal soch uss character mei daal deti thi jo mujhe lagta hai ki nahi karna chahiye waisa. Woh ek character hai, more than character ye ho raha hai, ye aaj bhi hota hai, hamari ek patriarchal society hai, hamari ek purush pradhan society hai. Mai bohot khush-naseeb samajhti hun ki mere maa-baap waise nahi hai, unhone mujhe bohot hi, ek bete ki tarah bada kiya hua hai unhone mujhe toh meri soch, mera sab kuch bohot alag hai. But, mere jaise kitne log hai, I'm just a very small part of the society, puri society aaj bhi bohot alag hai, toh use mujhe (reject) karna, ye attitude bohot galat hai. Toh, yeah, agar aisa kuch interesting ab aa gaya toh I might just say yes."

Rupali has greatly benefited from Neha's loss as a result of Anupamaa's fame, making her the top-rated TV star at the moment.
