Should Mishti really get MARRIED to Abeer in Star Plus’ Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke?

MUMBAI: If there is one show that continues to rule the hearts of the TV-viewing audience, it is Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. The characters of Kartik and Naira are not fictional for the audience. They are very much a part of their daily life and routine.

In the wake of popular shows churning out spin-offs, the show soon rolled out Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke. The story is about Naira’s sister Mishti falling in love with Abeer, who is older to her. Playing the titular roles are Rhea Sharma and Shaheer Sheikh.

Abeer and Mishti, right from day one, have made the audience fall in love with their chemistry. Shaheer Sheikh is a fine actor, and Rhea Sharma does balance out the simple girl next door image decently.

But Mishti comes from a more progressive school of thought and has the support of her entire family. Should she get married in a family where the matriarch is comparatively regressive?

Ahanna Singh, a computer engineer, said, 'I watch this show, and it is quite a stress-buster for me. I think she should get married, because she has Abeer by her side. He supports her and respects her opinions. It is not like he is asking or expecting her to be sacrificial in any way.'

Prarthna Chavhan, a sales executive, shared, 'There is anyway too much complication with Kunal being around, and Mishti is meant for better things than getting tangled up with such issues. Most definitely, love is blind, but Mishti needs to be more practical and ask Abeer to make his decision and put his foot down.'

Ankita Sharma, a housewife, said, 'Mishti and Abeer look good together, and Abeer does support her in many ways. I do not see any reason for her not to get married in the household even if she has a mother-in-law who comes from a regressive mindset because she has Abeer by her side. But in reality, if I were in Mishit’s place, I would have given it a second thought if I would have to share a roof with someone with that frame of mind.'

Hmm…what are your thoughts on the same?
