MUMBAI: Shraddha Arya is currently playing the role of Preeta in Zee TV's Kundali Bhagya. The show is a spin-off of Kumkum Bhagya which is also doing great on the small screen.  

Sharddha has proved herself as an incredible actress in Kundali Bhagya and also become a household name. The actress is paired opposite Dheeraj Dhoopar who plays Karan in the popular series.  

While Kundali Bhagya made Shraddha’s career reach new heights, the actress apparently wasn't the first choice for the role of Preeta. Yes, you read it right.  

Before Sharddha, top actresses of the small screen were considered for the role of Preeta while some didn't bag, some rejected. 

1. Ankita Lokhande 

She was offered the role after her successful show Pavitra Rishta. However, Ankita was apparently not keen on doing a TV show. 

2. Rati Pandey  

She is known for shows like Miley Jab Hum Tum and Hitler Didi. The actress too was offered the lead role but she rejected the offer.  

3. Tina Dutta  

Reportedly, Tina was approached for the role and was almost finalised but didn't bag it for reasons best known to them.

4. Sara Khan  

The Bidaai fame actress too was offered the role but she was already caught up with other projects and couldn't take up the offer.  

5. Sanaya Irani  

The Miley Jab Hum Tum actress was also approached for the show but Sanaya was apparently looking for some different kind of a role to make her comeback on the small screen.  

Well, these actresses' loss proved to be Shraddha’s gain!
