Actress Shweta Sinha essays the role of Pari in Rashmi Sharma Telefilms’ Sasural Simar Ka on Colors with élan. Shweta feels that her character, that of a former Miss Chandni Chowk who always talks about fashion, cosmetics and shopping does not get lost in the crowd as most of the women love such fashion-friendly characters. Shweta justifies the fact that her character along with Uma Bhabhi (Snehal Sahay) gets jealous when the other bahus of the house, Roli (Avika Gor) and Simar (Dipika Samson) get more importance. “Such things happen everywhere, as jealous and negative emotions are bound to occur when so many different personalities live together under the same roof. Having said this, things are over dramatized on TV.” On her role turning negative in the recent past, Shweta tells us, “Yes, we were jealous about Simar and Roli stealing the limelight at home. So we tried to put them down in front of Mataji (Jayati Bhatia). We are big kaam-chors (work shirkers) but pose to be the women who work the most in the Bharadwaj clan, while in reality we make Roli and Simar do our share of work too.” On the public reaction to the negative role, Shweta avers, “Many women came up to me and told me that they were surprised that we could do so much of mischief. I take such criticism in my stride as the public does not like what my character is doing. That only means that I am doing my job well. But I am glad that the track has turned positive again.” Lastly, the actress is happy that her show Sasural Simar Ka, is her longest running show till date.
