MUMBAI: Tanya Sharma became a household name for her role Meera in Star Plus' popular show Saath Nibhana Saathiya. The actress was paired opposite Amar Upadhyay in the show.

Dharam and Meera's onscreen pairing did wonders and they became a hot favorite jodi among the fans.

The show went off-air a few years back but the diehard fans still miss Amar and Tanya's jodi on screen.

In an exclusive interview with TellyChakkar, Tanya was asked about her co-star Amar.

The actress was all praises for him and said, "our fans are demanding to see us back together in a show."

The actress says she was not aware of Amar doing the new show Maulkki. Tanya said, "I was tagged in so many tweets by the fans and that's how I came to know about Amar's new show."

Tanya said she asked her manager if the auditions are going on and that she can audition for the role. However, the actress was late as the female lead was already locked.

The actress quoted, "I am so glad Amar bagged this amazing show as a lead."

The Saath Nibhana Saathiya fame said that she enjoyed working with Amar even though there was an age gap between them.

"I was always scared to do anything in front of him but Amar always made me comfortable and told me to perform my scenes as Meera and not Tanya."

Well, Amar and Tanya surely had a great time and we would love to see them back on the small screens once again.
