MUMBAI: Shashi-Sumeet Productions’ Mitegi Laxman Rekha started with an innovative concept on 29 June. The show has completed 56 episodes until 9 August. However, within 2 months, the daily is all set to bid adieu to viewers.

TellyChakkar has exclusive information that &TV has decided to pull the curtains down on the show. A reliable source confirms that the last episode will air on 31 August.

The daily revolves around Kanchan, played by Shivani Tomar, and Vishesh, played by Rahul Sharma. It discusses the struggles of a girl after she has been molested.

The show shutting down indeed comes as a shocker since it didn’t complete even 100 episodes. The makers have been informed by the channel about the development. ‘Poor ratings’ have been cited to be the reason behind the show’s abrupt discontinuation.

We couldn’t reach out to the production house. When we contacted Rahul, he was unaware of the development. ‘I’m not aware about it. I haven’t got anything officially from the channel or the production house. I’m hearing it from you,’ he said.

Apparently, the writer’s team has been asked to wrap up the story henceforth. The current shoot is expected to go at least for another week.

Do you think it was the right decision to pull the plug on the show? Will you miss watching it? Let us know in the comments below.
