MUMBAI: Urvashi Dholakia is one of the most known actresses from the TV industry. The actress is loved and admired very much for her grey shade characters and no way anyone can forget her character of Komolika. The actress was last seen in Pushpa Impossible where she had a powerful role of a lawyer.

In an exclusive conversation with Tellychakkar, Urvashi Dholakia talked about recent divorces and gave her strong opinion about it.

When pointed out at the crumbling institution of marriage, Urvashi Dholakia said, “It is very much crumbling all around us. Marriage is adjustment. You can’t say that it has to be my way or the highway. You know that’s why everybody’s going down hill. It is an adjustment from both sides. Yes, agreed but then I also believe that whether it’s marriage or a relationship, whether it’s any kind of a bond, even if it’s a girlfriend-boyfriend thing, the whole thing is that if you really want things to work and if you’re really really there, that’s the power of a woman. You cannot expect everything from a man, you cannot expect everything from a woman. If I am a 100 on one day, I don’t expect the man to be 100 on the same day.”

Generally in cases of divorce, people are very easily jumping the gun and saying that the woman is getting married to get a quick alimony, then divorce the guy and lead a comfortable life, when asked Urvashi Dholakia about her opinion about it, she said, “People now have a platform to speak. Aisa nahi ke pehle koi nahi bolta tha. Pehle sab peeth peeche bolte the, ya toh group bana ke bolte the, ya toh mil ke bolte the, ya toh kisi party mein ek dusre ki bitching karte the. Hota toh pehle bhi tha. Divorce has always been a taboo subject in society. Like tomorrow if the female friends of the female side meet, they probably bitch about the man also, they have their perception, the other people have their perception, right? But only the two people who are in it are the actual people who know what the truth is.”

She added, “Mera maan’na yeh hai ki who are we to say anything. It was their life, their decision, they took the choice of that life path and they’ve decided to part ways so fair enough it’s their call. People will talk, all their lives they will talk because that is what they do. Nobody needs their validation.”
