Vaishnavi Mahant to play a pivotal role in Kyun Utthe Dil Chhod Aaye!

MUMBAI: From positive roles to negative roles, there is nothing that the acclaimed actress Vaishnavi cannot play. Actress Vaishnavi will now be seen as Zahida in Sony Entertainment Television’s upcoming show, Kyun Utthe Dil Chhod Aaye. The actress has set maternal standards in the television industry and now will be seen as Vashma’s mother in the show.

While mothers are possessive of their kids, Vaishnavi character is over possessive. She believes that her daughter should get married and settle at the right age, but little does she know that Vashma has other dreams and aspirations. As a mother ,she is more inclined towards her son. Which was the mindset back in 1940s before India smelled the air of Independence. Set in 1947, Lahore, pre-partition India, Kyun Uthe Dil Chod Aaye narrates the story of three young girls - Amrit, Vashma and Radha. This story brings forth their dreams, hope, aspirations, and newfound love... all this at the brink of Independence.

Talking about her character, Vaishnav Mahant says, “I’m completely different from my character in the show- Zahida. Women in the 1940s had a different mindset and they curbed the wings of girls who dared to dream. Zahida is more inclined towards her son and more possessive towards her daughter. Kyun Utthe Dil Chhod Aaye is the story of Amrit, Vashma and Radha and their dream and newfound love, in pre-partition India. It will be inspiring to see the story of these three girls who dared to dream. It is inspirational even for the girls of 21st century.”

Watch Kyun Utthe Dil Chhod Aaye, from 25th January, Monday to Friday at 9 PM, only on Sony Entertainment Television.
