MUMBAI: New Year's Eve is just around the corner and throughout the year, our television stars have entertained us. Be it fiction drama or reality shows, it has been a helluva year with lots of show launches and stellar performances. While a few actors flourished playing their roles for years, a few discontinued their association with certain characters. 1. Shahzad Shaikh replaced Rishi Dev:
Shahzad replaced Rishi Dev as Naksh earlier this year in Star Plus Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata hai. Rishi apparently wanted to focus on his YouTube channel. Shahzad is still a part of the show and his performance is quite appreciated. FYI, Rishi too had replaced Rohan Mehra in the show as Naksh. Rohan left the show to participate in Bigg Boss.

2. Tarun Khanna replaced Vikkas Manaktala:

Star PLus' Namah witnessed a major replacement as the Vikkas Manaktala who played the character of Lord Shiva was replaced by Tarun Khanna. The reason of the replacement as per reports was that the makers wanted an actor who is already established and appreciated as Lord Shiva.

3. Aamna Sharif replaced Hina Khan
It can be called as one of the biggest replacements of the year. Hina Khan floored the audience as the evil Komolika in Star Plus' Kasauti Zindagi Kay but Aamna did a very good job as the new Komolika and also won people's hearts.

4. Simran Khanna replaced Deblina Chatterjee
Simran Khanna replaced Deblina Chatterjee in Star PLus' Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai as Gayu. The reason behind the same was that Deblina apparently did not want to play a mother on screen. For the uninitiated, Deblina relaced Kanchi Singh as Gayu earlier.

5. Niyati Joshi replaced Parul Chauhan
Looks like  a lot of actors from Yeh Rishta Kya kehlata hai bid adieu to the viewers. Due to her marriage Parul Chahuhan left the show paving way for Niyati Joshi as the new Suvarna.

6. Rachna Parulekar replaced Chhavi Pandey
In order to increase the TRPs, the makers of Namah wanted to change the storyline and focuses from certain characters. This sudden change in the script wasn't appreciated by a few actors and Chhavi Pandey left the show as Parvati. Rachna Parulekar was then introduced as the new Parvati.

7. Hunar Hale replaced Amandeep Sindhu
&TV's Paramavtaar Shri Krishna witnessed the much awaited leap in the show. Earlier Amandeep Sindhu played the character of Rukmani in the show. Later, makers roped in actress Hunar Hale for the role.

8. Kishwer Merchant replaced Tanaz Irani
Tanaz's character Nishia Bua was highly appreciated in Star Plus' Kahaan Hum Kahaan Tum. However, she was later replaced by actress Kishwer Merchant.

9. Simran Sachdeva replaced Mansi Sharma
Chhoti Sardarni became quite popular in a very short span of time.  Mansi Sharma had to quit the show as she was apparently expecting her first baby. Simran Sachdeva is currently playing the role of Sarabjeet's sister Harleen in the show.

10. Tanmay Shah replaced Shaurya Shah
Shaurya played Kartik and Naira's son Kairav in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. however, he couldn't continue to shoot because of his poor health. Tanmay Shah was roped in overnight for the character.

11. Chandani Bhagwanani replaced Rashmi Singh
Rashmi Singh played the original Dr.Asha Kanwar in Star Plus' Sanjivani. Later, Chandani was roped in for the same role.
