MUMBAI: Rajan Shahi faced backlash when he decided to add a generation leap to the show in 2023. TV fans voiced their disapproval of his choice to leap ahead in time and change the leads. Fans of Pranali Rathod and Harshad Chopda were not thrilled with the replacement because they felt that the makers did not properly explore the story of Abhimanyu and Akshara. They expressed their opinions on social media and requested that the production company and the channel cancel the leap.
Shehzada Dhami and Samridhii Shukla had a difficult beginning because the public took their time adapting to the new faces. In the end, Pranali Rathod and Harshad Chopda did a fantastic job portraying their individual parts. The TRPs of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai increased after a poor beginning.
Following the release of Anupamaa, starring Rupali Ganguly and Gaurav Khanna, YRKKH is currently the second most-watched show across all platforms. Samridhi Shukla found it difficult to portray Abhira because, in real life, she is an introvert. Samridhii said it was "too much to take all at once" in response to a question about how she handled playing a lively character like Abhira. The Saavi Ki Savaari actress said that she was completely unaware of the expectations placed on her throughout her role as Abhira.
Samridhii Shukla remembered how she used to have a breakdown when she was alone in her room. She went into much detail about it and said that she needed some time to adjust to the role she plays in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai.
"I used to breakdown alone in my room almost everyday but no matter what I never stop trying and never gave up," she said in her interview with the popular news portal.
Samridhii already disclosed what she talked about with Pranali Rathod during their meeting for the shoot of a promotional video.
"She's super sweet and easy. In fact on her farewell, I told her I know it's hard to say goodbye but I wish for you to reach far far heights and do great work," Samridhii Shukla told the popular news portal.
