Acche din aa gaye hain. At least the comedians of AIB would say so. AIB's roast session featuring hunks Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor which happened last year in December was finally uploaded on YouTube yesterday. The session which sees insults, downright vulgar and racists jokes being heaped on all participants has been attracting viewers in hordes on the internet. We list down five likes and dislikes.

High fives:

For a never before seen roast session in India

AIB believes in pushing the envelope and they literally did that by hosting the most uncensored, uninhibited and unabashed show ever featuring big names of Bollywood who willingly and smilingly took part as vulgar, sexist, racist and all other cheap jokes were cracked at their expense much to the delight of the audience.

If Karan Johar, Arjun Kapoor and Ranveer Singh agreed to get roasted, their girlfriends, Sonakshi Sinha and Deepika Padukone who were in the audience weren't spared. Others seen having a good laugh in the audience were Alia Bhatt, her mom Soni, Karan's mom Hiroo, Anurag Kashyap, Vikramaditya Motwane, Sanjay Kapoor, Homi Adjania and many others. It almost seemed like an award function.

Multiple ROFL moments:

There were some really genuine moments of laughter starting with Karan Johar and jokes about his sexuality. Sample a few ones. ‘Ladies and gentlemen, give it up for Karan Johar...like many in the industry have’. ‘Ashish Shakya is the hottest guy of AIB..He is so black that he absorbs all heat around..Hence he is hot’. ‘Arjun Kapoor failed in 12th which means he can't even be a bus conductor which if he had been he would have sold far more tickets’. Other celebs like Raghu Ram and Rajeev Masand too did a commendable job.

Karan is happy and gay

That Karan is gay is an open secret. But no one has ever dared to mention it ever in the public realm until AIB guys took the lead. From saying KJO agreed to be a part of the show because 10 dudes would f**k him on the show to Karan himself showing his preferred sexual position, the real roast victim was Karan. And the acclaimed filmmaker didn't mind it one bit.

They may never do a movie this filthy but for AIB these two hunks let loose all their inhibitions. From patiently listening to all insults heaped to swearing in the choicest of abuses, the actors were at their uncensored best.

Thumbs Down For:

Repetitive jokes

Karan told Arjun flunked his 12th and the rest of the comedians religiously repeated him to a nauseating level much to Arjun's chagrin and our disinterest. 

Not so funny comedians

Except for Khamba and Tanmay the rest of the AIB clan were passable. Rohan Joshi looked to be in hurry to finish reading his script on stage. Abhish Matthew cracked some often heard one-liners while the lone female presence on stage Aditi Mittal comic act didn't create any great shakes.

Offensive jokes at selective people not present in the show

It's really uncool when you crack deeply vulgar jokes at people who are not part of the gathering. Parineeti was the butt of some bad jokes. 'Parineeti was told that she would be fu**ed by 10 dudes...Well, really not funny’. References to Ranbir Kapoor were also made many times. 

The Khans were left untouched

AIB evidently didn't want to rub the titans of Bollywood the wrong way and left the Khans out of their roast session. Certainly if you are cracking jokes on KJO, how can one on SRK not come up.

Arjun and Ranveer's choice of swear words

They are youth icons but wonder how the youth who follow these actors will take to this new avatar that they displayed at the roast session. Arjun for some strange let loose a string of angry Hindi expletives some at the audience as well for turning out in large numbers to watch the show but not his movies. At one point, he even kicked Khamba when the poor fellow went to shake hands with him. Not cool really!
