Bhatt referred to people who made comparisons between the two films as "dumb," saying, "People say that Murder is Unfaithful. So I think those people are so stupid because the only thing similar about the two movies are that they are centered around the same situation, of extramarital affairs. That was the story of Arth and Gumraah as well," the director could be heard saying in a clip uploaded by Wild Films India on YouTube.

"We were licking our wounds when Murder came to us, because we were dealing with back-to-back flops (Saaya, Footpath). It was a very fulfilling film to make, it had a very effortless pace to it. It had a unique structure," Bhatt added.

Emraan Hashmi, Ashmit Patel, and Mallika Sherawat played the key characters in Murder. During Anurag Basu's direction, it was a critical and commercial hit. Additionally, its music was well-received. After their release, songs like 'Bheege Honth' and 'Kaho Na Kaho' swiftly rose to the top of the charts.

The Hindi thriller 'Murder,' which was produced and directed by Mukesh Bhatt and Anurag Basu, was released in 2004. The film tells the tale of Simran and Sudhir, a married couple whose bond is tested by mistrust and betrayal. Their lives fall into a maze of fraud, passion, and murder when Simran has an extramarital affair with Sunny.
