Shaheer Sheikh is not a part of Humsafar

TV heartthrob Shaheer Sheikh has become a household name now, thanks to his spirited performance as Anant in Star Plus’ Navya. The show produced by Swastik Pictures, is going off air on 29 June (2012) and media reports suggested that Shaheer has been signed to play an important role in Sony Entertainment Television’s upcoming show, Humsafar (produced by Sphere Origins). Reports also suggested that he will share screen space with Himmanshoo Malhotra.

But the blue-eyed actor tweeted in the morning stating, “I am not doing Humsafar. It was offered to me but couldn’t do it as I have to go home for a month at least.” Bad news for Shaheer fans. Now, we have dug deep and found other technical reasons of him shying away from Humsafar. Apparently, he is still under a contract with Swastik under which he is still in the period where his dates are blocked with the production house. Moreover, Star Plus has also had a meeting with Shaheer wherein they showed interest in retaining him in the channel by giving him some other show (as part of the channel’s policy to retain its actors). We tried getting in touch with Siddharth Tewary, producer of Swastik, but he remained unavailable. Shaheer too remained out of reach. But we will continue with our efforts to get in touch with him.
