MUMBAI: Actor Meiyang Chang is known for his singing talents. He has been trying hard to make his mark in the acting industry. Meiyang will be seen as an actor in the upcoming web series Undekhi 2.

Team Tellychakkar.com got an exclusive chance to have a conversation with the actor where he spoke about the characters he is looking forward to playing. He also spoke about if there were any roles that were offered to him but unfortunately he didn't get it and how he takes the audience feedback on his works.

Is there any character which you wished that you could have played but didn’t get it?

I have been called mostly for the specific roles and thank God most of the time I do get those roles. But I will say that there are many roles which I want to play. Some years back I used to think that I want to do certain types of characters but do I really have the capability to play on screen. That is the most important question every actor asks themselves. There was one role that came to me where I had to play a Kashmiri boy. But unfortunately, that went to somebody else. It would have been the most challenging role for me had I got the character.

What kinds of characters excite you as an actor

Till last year, it was an action genre which I like most. But that wish has been now fulfilled already. I really want to do roles that would dig much deeper into a relationship. As an actor, I would really like to do those kinds of roles because there are so many things to learn and portray on the screen.

Does the audience feedback affect you or do you criticize your own work?

The feedback doesn’t affect me so much. Well, honestly, the feedback doesn’t bother me much as I take it as much humanity as much as criticism. Both are extremely important but you can’t let them go into your head Because then you will be forever distressed or you will make bad choices. I am very self-critical about my own work. I mostly don’t like any of my work till I see it for the second or third time. My funda of life is very simple, never expect too much from anyone, this is called practical optimism. That’s why I always have decent expectations from my work and thankfully I always exceed those expectations.
