MUMBAI: Meiyang Chang in this exclusive interview with TellyChakkar talks about his upcoming web series Undekhi 2. The actor speaks about how excited he is about being a part of the show, how he prepared for his character, and his co-star Apeksha Porwal.

How excited are you for the web series Undekhi 2?

I was very excited to join the cast because I knew the first part has done very well and had been a super hit. This is one of the shows which have got a lot of appreciation through word of mouth. I was very excited when I was approached for it officially.   So, when this role came to me, I felt that this character has his own dark past, but is looking to redeem himself. There were so many conflicting thoughts about the role in me. So I was very happy to be a part of Undekhi 2. Working with these guys, I thought it will be entertaining sharing the screen with them.

What are the preparations you did before getting into the skin of your character?

It cannot be completely free-flowing. I have done that in my previous roles. I have usually played myself in all the roles I have done till now. And I have been grateful that audiences have loved me in those films. But since last year,  I have been preparing for all the characters I will be playing onscreen.  A lot of preparation was done, when I was doing a conversation with Ashish. For the first time, as an actor, I started preparing for the role rather than going on the sets and performing it  One thing which I have to really work on this show was the action sequences. I have to prepare a lot for the action scenes. And I believe that It has worked out pretty well for all of us. I have not done many action scenes before but this time it was interesting to learn some actions. 

Did you know that Apeksha had a fangirl moment when she first met you?

I didn’t know that we had met before. But Apeksha told me that we had met during a pageant in which she was a contestant and I was hosting the show. So, she was like we had met during the pageant. Talking about her, she is so sweet and committed to her work which is one of the nicest things about her. She is really a great co-actor. I was inspired by her for the kind of effort she was putting into her character in the show. We really had great fun during the shoot of the film.
