MUMBAI: Tellychakkar has always been at the forefront of reporting about the news of The Prayag Raaj which is a political-drama series on the infamous Madhumita Shukla murder case. The Prayag Raj will be produced by Vision Movie Makers helmed by Raju Rai Singhania. The series is directed and written by Anish Sharon Khan, the Casting Director is Sonu Singh Rajput.  

We also exclusively brought to our readers the news that Sameeksha Gaur, Deep Raj Rana, Garima Jain, and SmitaSharan, Deepshika Nagpal will be an integral part of the show. The series is the talk of the town and has always been in the news for its cast having versatile artists like Adhayan Suman, Vikram Kochar, Mukesh Tiwari, Darpan Srivastava, and TikToker Akash Chowdhary.

We recently got into a candid conversation with Sameeksha Gaur who has done many films in the past, her most praised ones being Why Cheat India with Emraan Hashmi, Chase No Mercy, Chal Bhaag with Deepak Dobriyal, and Vikram Bhatt's web series Untouchables. 

 We started by asking Sameeksha about her character in the series, she says ''my role is about Madhumita Shukla who is a 23-year-old poetess, belonging to a middle-class family, her over-ambitious nature gets her into a relationship with then sports minister Amarmani Tripathi. Madhumita was 7 months pregnant with him when she was brutally murdered. My role will try to portray even the smallest aspects of the most sensational murder in recent times.''  

We go on to ask her about her preparations for the character, ''Me and Madhumita are two poles apart, she was over-ambitious whereas I feel content in whatever I have. Her personality was tomboyish so although most of the videos of her are deliberately removed from the internet, I am still trying to get my hands on anything available about her so that I can adapt the way she walked and talked appropriately. I will also undergo a complete look transformation. It will be my biggest challenge to get into her skin and do justice to her persona.'' 

She further adds, '' Web series came as a boon for us actors. Our work was limited before but now we have a huge platform waiting for us to be explored. The best thing about the digital platform is you don't have to go to a cinema hall amid a pandemic and can watch it anywhere and anytime.'' 

We asked Sameeksha about her lockdown journey, she was quick to say, '' The national lockdown was a turning point in my life. I landed with Madhumita's role during the lockdown as well as I lost my beloved grandfather during the same period. I was happy for myself but at the same time, I felt shattered. I finally gathered myself and used this time to work even harder on my skills and now I feel even more confident.'' 

The actress signs off with a motto she learned hard, '' The ups and downs in your life make you adorn the good things even more!''
