MUMBAI: Ekta Kapoor's reality show titled “Lock Upp”, where 17 contestants will be locked in jail, play the game, and fight for getting bail to survive, was launched on MX Player and Alt Balaji. 

The audience has given it a thumbs-up. 

Kangana Ranaut made her OTT debut on the show as a host. She guides the contestants. The entire concept is a setup in jail. 

The contestants are fighting hard to survive and to entertain the audience. 

Karan Kundrra as the jailor is doing a fabulous job. He is entertaining the audiences, and whenever he comes on the show, the viewership shoots up to another level.

Recently, Ali Merchant was eliminated from the show, as the host Kangana thought that his game wasn’t good enough.

Post his eviction, TellyChakkar got in touch with the actor and asked him about why he chose to reveal this secret. 

One of the contestants on the show said that her game came to an end because of you. What do you have to say about it?   

What can I say? The audience didn’t give votes. The contestants also did not support her as they also came to know who is real and who is fake. I really don’t want to give any importance to this anymore as I have a web series and two more projects coming up. I am ready to take all the challenges coming my way. 

What made you speak about your divorce? 

No one knew about it. As an actor, you want the audience to connect to you. We do have personal lives, but fans have the right to know certain things. This platform was right to be honest, and that was the main reason I revealed my secret . These things cannot be hidden. I believe I will treat the next girl I am with, with a lot of respect. 

Who would you want to and not want to be friends with post the show? 

I really bonded with Munawar Faruqui as we knew each other from before. That’s why I was shocked that he didn’t play the game with me. Later, he removed my name from the chargesheet and proved his friendship as he wanted to gain my trust. Things are fine with me. 

The moment Zeeshan entered the show, I connected with him. I am very fond of Anjali, but the only thing is that she is very dependent on Munawar and she always needs someone around her.

I will not name the person I wouldn’t want to be friends with as I don’t want to entertain trollers.

Well, no doubt that Ali was a good player. His elimination has come as a shock to everyone.
