MUMBAI : Ashutosh Gowarikar is one of the most popular and talented filmmakers of the Indian film industry. He has given us some of the highest grossing movies like Jodha Akbar, Lagaan, Swades, among others. He began his career as an actor with SRK in the TV show Circus then went on to act in films like Chamatkar, Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa. He was last seen in the Marathi film Ventilator.

Ashutosh is all set to make his OTT debut with the series Kaala Paani. He won’t be seen as a director or producer but will be acting in it. The series also stars Mona Singh, Amey Wagh, Sukant Goel, Arushi Sharma, Radhika Mehrotra, and Vikas Kumar. Netflix announced the project and wrote, “This is your sign to prepare for #KaalaPaani, coming soon only on Netflix!”
Kaala Paani is produced by Sameer Saxena, Saurabh Khanna, Amit Golani, and Biwapati Sarkar. It is set in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and tells the story of survival.
Sameer Saxena who is the co-director of the series said, “The series is a survival drama featuring an ensemble of characters who are all trying to escape the wrath of nature, as the vast sea confines them for thousands of kilometers. In this invisible battle between humans and nature, these individuals discover that their destinies are intertwined, not just with each other, but also with the environment.”
