Pritish Nandy To Be Honoured By The Bangladesh Government

40 Years after the liberation of Bangladesh, Pritish Nandy who wrote fiercely independent and incisive articles in the Illustrated Weekly Of India and other publications of the early 1970s on the Liberation Movement has been invited by the Bangladesh government to be honoured on 15 December. The function will honour those intellectual minds who helped Bangladesh attain liberation.

Shabana Azmi gets 'lal batti' treatment in Bangladesh

Shabana Azmi created quite a furore in Bangladesh on Saturday when she reached Dhaka to represent her late father Kaifi Azmi who was being honoured, along with 57 other dignitaries from across the world for their support of Bangaldesh’s War Of Liberation in 1971. Shabana who had to be in Dhaka for the function to represent her father had to be back in Mumbai in time for her mother’s birthday the same day.
