While speaking at an event, the megastar jokingly expressed his concern that Charan might welcome another daughter, a remark that has since sparked controversy. Many have criticised his comment as sexist and outdated, arguing that it reflects a regressive mindset.

The statement has fuelled discussions on gender perceptions and inheritance in the entertainment industry.

While some have dismissed it as a light-hearted remark, others believe it underscores the deep-rooted preference for male heirs in prominent families. The debate continues, with many urging a shift towards recognising talent and capability over gender when it comes to legacy

The actor during the event said that he wants a son to carry forward the legacy, the actor also said that he feels like living in a girl’s hostel since he is surrounded by women.

Chiranjeevi said, “When I’m at home, it doesn’t feel like I’m surrounded by my granddaughters; it feels like I’m a ladies’ hostel warden, surrounded by ladies all around. I keep wishing and telling (Ram) Charan, at least this time, to have a boy so that our legacy continues, but his daughter is the apple of his eye… I’m scared that he might again have a girl."

Well, the actor has received a severe backlash for his statement and people are questioning him on the gender equality thing and it’s become a topic of discussion.
