MUMBAI: Sriram Raghavan and Varun Dhawan had teamed up for Badlapur which did well at the box office. The filmmaker and the actor were supposed to work together again in a film titled Ikkis, a biopic on Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal. But, today, the makers officially announced the movie with Agastya Nanda in the lead role and it also features Dharmendra. 
 
The makers decided to announce the film today as the veteran actor Dharmendra celebrates his 87th birthday. However, fans of Varun are quite upset as he is no more a part of the film.

A fan commented, “Wow @Varun_dvn Another Sriram’s movie which you rejected. You can play a school student in JJJ but not a 21-year-old. I just don’t understand why you reject Sriram’s films. Please work together!” Check out the comments below…

Well, only the makers and Varun can reveal why he was replaced in the film. Meanwhile, talking about Agastya Nanda; he is the grandson of Amitabh Bachchan, and will be making his acting debut with Zoya Akhtar’s The Archies. The movie, which also stars Khushi Kapoor and Suhana Khan, will premiere on Netflix next year.

Varun was recently seen in Bhediya which got a lukewarm response at the box office. The film received mixed positive reviews but Varun’s performance in it was appreciated a lot. The actor currently has Bawaal lined up which also stars Janhvi Kapoor in the lead role. The movie is directed by Nitesh Tiwari.
