MUMBAI: The tragic death of stepfather Anil Mehta, the actresses Malaika and Amrita Arora, has rocked the entire family. He leaped off the sixth storey of his apartment building in Bandra West at approximately 10.30 a.m., according to Mumbai Police. He was postmortem on Wednesday at Cooper Hospital in Vile Parle West at 8:00 p.m.
Model Malaika Arora's stepfather, Anil Mehta, 62, passed away from various injuries, according to the post-mortem report.
Anil Mehta reportedly contacted Amrita and Malaika just before he jumped to his death. According to reports, he said, "I'm sick and tired." He allegedly turned off his phone as his family members tried to talk to him once again.
Malaika's mother was in the same apartment as Anil Mehta when he leaped from the building on the sixth floor. Joyce, Malaika's mother, reportedly told the police that she was there in the home when Anil died.
Anil Mehta’s last rites took place at Santacruz crematorium on 12th September.

She went to the balcony the day he died to see how he was doing, but she was unable to locate him. She noticed the bodyguard was calling for assistance when she leaned over the balcony. Joyce also told the authorities that Anil was just experiencing little knee pain and had no other illnesses.
