MUMBAI: Taapsee Pannu has made a name for herself in the film industry over the years by taking the less-traveled route and often selecting unique and engaging screenplays. She provided insight into how she goes above and beyond to locate the appropriate kind of scripts, pursuing directors and producers in a recent interview.

Taapsee disclosed how she found the "Saand Ki Ankh" script, sharing a moment when she went above and beyond to obtain a script. She said she wanted to be in a script where two starring ladies steered the narrative together while sharing the same environment. It was during this search that she came upon the movie's script.

However, Taapsee's willingness to embrace a variety of roles and her choices for different scripts are what really make her stand out. When discussing a situation in which she went above and above, she stated, "Kyuki example de ke battati hu Saandh Ki Aankh. Mere age group ke liye nahi banni thi paar mujhe aisi film karne ka maam tha jo do ladkiya saath mein karre and do ladkiya matlab two leading ladies, not like one main and one supporting kyuki yeh mana jatta tha ki do ladkiya saath mein mainstream cinema type mein nahi, it's always insecurity ho jatti hein, yeh ho jata hein. Mujhe matlab acting karne ka shookh hein aur mujhe koi insecurity nahi hein koi aur actor ko leke ki woh mera screen space kha jayegi ya kha jayega, mein bohot secure hu as an actor.”

She continued, “Roj mein chahti thi ki mein koi is tarha ki script karru jiske andar hum equal ho aur saath mein shoulder kar rahe hein responsibility film ki, toh issiliye i went out of my way to hunt for such a script and tab mujhe patta chala ki Tushar ke pass ek script hein jo do aurto ki hein, lekin mujhe patta nahi tha ke do buddhi aurte hein. Toh mujhe patta chala tha ke do aurto ki kahani hein. Toh mein jayi usse milne ke liye aur usne milte he mujhse kaha ki but meri kahani toh do budhi aurto ke barre mein hein, toh men ne kaha ke but you tell me ke mein kar sakti hu ke nahi, ke agar tumhe lagta hein ki hum prosthetics se kar sakte hein i still would want to do it, kyuki mein ek do jagge gayi thi pehle menne script kuch padhi thi mujhe maza nahi aya jab mujhe script milli, hunt karke he milli, mujhe chahiye do, kiske pass hein toh battato."

She added, "Mujhe script acche lagti hein koi toh mujhe ye effort karna padta hein kyuki mere career mein mera koi godfather nahi hein jo yeh karega."

Taapsee's filmography shows her daring and unique decisions. She moves effortlessly between mainstream hits like "Dunki" and "Judwaa 2" and provocative movies like "Saand Ki Aankh," "Badla," and "Pink." She also excels in navigating the boundaries between content-driven, unconventional narratives and mainstream commercial cinema.
