Ritabhari Chakraborty plays 'Shakira' in Colkata-e Columbus

Ritabhari Chakraborty

Bong beauty Ritabhari Chakraborty says that the character which she is essaying in Colkata-e Columbus is ‘not normal’!

“I am playing the role of Shakira in the film. My character symbolizes the people of our generation who are obsessed with social networking sites,” Ritabhari said about her role.

She added, “Shakira is not normal. She always clicks selfies and uploads on Facebook (FB). Even if she has lost her boyfriend she wouldn’t mind updating it on FB. I guess, now, using social networking sites incessantly has become a normal thing.”

The Chotushkone and Onyo Apalaa famed actress also feels that in the age of social networking sites people are actually becoming lonely.

She said, “People use such sites to be friends with many but deep down they are lonely. Shakira has hundred friends on FB but end of the day she has nothing to do apart from clicking selfies. I think this is a terrible thing.”

The actress says that her director Saurav Palodhi has written a wonderful script for Colkata-e Columbus.

She said, “At the time of briefing we were told that it’s over the top comedy. Comedy can be found in our regular conversation. Suppose while interacting with someone I am saying: ‘I am feeling hashtag amazing’. It itself is funny. Saurav has written a wonderful script; it is really funny.”

“However, I would say the film is not comedy; it is a satire with right elements of comedy,” she signed off.

Good luck, girl.
