MUMBAI: Everyone knows the famous 'Mannat' as Shah Rukh Khan's abode. The famous tourist attraction has served as SRK's home for the last 25 years. However, SRK, along with his wife Gauri Khan and kids - Aryan, Suhana and Abram, will move out of the house later this year.
Reason? Well, the bunglow is going for a grand renovation. As per HT reports, the renovation will commence in May and the process will also include a long-proposed extension of the bunglow. Shah Rukh's Mannat is a Grade III heritage structure and therefore requires a proper permission if there has to be any structural change.
While Mannat is set to be renewed, SRK and his family will relocate to an apartment building where the family will rent out four floors and reportedly pay Rs 24 lakh per month as rent. Talking about the apartment building, as per an HT report, Shah Rukh has leased four floors from film producer Vashu Bhagnani.
Shah Rukh's Red Chillies Entertainment entered into a leave and licence agreement with Bhagnani’s actor son, Jackky Bhagnani and his daughter, Deepshika Deshmukh, who co-owns the property, Puja Casa.
As per sources, it's not just just SRK and his family but even his staff and security which will move into these four floors and also have some office space. “It is clearly not as capacious as Mannat; there is enough space to accommodate his security and other staff,” said a source.
According to sources, SRK and his team are working to ensure proper safety and privacy for him and his family at the apartment building.
As per a report by Business Standard it is stated that the Jawan actor has leased two duplex apartments on the first, second, seventh, and eighth floors of the building.
However, while the renovation work is said to be done in up to two years, the report states that the apartments have been leased for next three years.
