MUMBAI: Navya Naveli Nanda and Taimur Ali Khan might not have met or clicked a picture together but they are related via families. Here's all you need to know...

Navya Naveli Nanda is Amitabh Bachchan's granddaughter while Taimur Ali Khan is Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan's 4-year-old son. One might wonder how are the two related but you will be surprised to know that they are actually distant cousins. You might have not seen them hanging out together but they actually belong to the same big Kapoor family courtesy their grandparents.

Navya is the daughter of Nikhil Nanda who is late Ritu Kapoor's son. Ritu is Raj Kapoor's eldest daughter, sister of Randhir Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor, Rima Kapoor. Ritu got married to business tycoon Rajan Nanda and joined the Nanda clan. Later, Nikhil got married to Shweta Bachchan and became a part of the Bachchan family. So that's how the Nanda family, the Kapoors and the Bachchan family got connected.

Kareena, on the other hand, is Ritu Nanda's niece given that she is Randhir Kapoor's daughter. So that way, she is Navya's father Nikhil Nanda's first cousin and Taimur and Navya are technically distant cousins.

Navya recently made her Instagram account public. While there are strong speculations that she might soon make her Bollywood debut, she is in no hurry to pursue acting. She is in fact making a difference through her progressive initiatives and thought-provoking posts on Instagram.

Meanwhile, there are many such distant family relations among the Bollywood families that not many know of. Rani Mukerji's mother-in-law Pamela Chopra and Simi Garewal's mother are sisters. Emraan Hashmi is the son of Mahesh Bhatt's cousin sister. Hence, he is Mahesh's nephew and Pooja-Alia's cousin. Shraddha Kapoor is the grand-niece of legendary singers Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle. Her grandfather is the cousin of the Mangeshkars. Sonam Kapoor's grandmother (mother's mother) and Ranveer's grandfather are siblings. So basically, their mothers are cousins!
