Diwakar gets arty!

For an ex- Mr India acting is the next best thing post modeling. But what happens when acting offers don't pour in that easily? Diwakar Pundir is one such actor, who has had to stay happy with the few selected offers which came his way, be it from the TV or the film world. For an ex- Mr India acting is the next best thing post modeling. But what happens when acting offers don't pour in that easily? Diwakar Pundir is one such actor, who has had to stay happy with the few selected offers which came his way, be it from the TV or the film world. Somehow, the actor hasn't been seen around after Zee's Reth was taken off air about six months back. But looks like after a lull in his career, the actor's career is now looking up again. Diwakar is currently been seen on Sahara One's Kuch Apne Kuch Paraye (plays one of the brothers in the Raichand house), Zee's Ravana (plays Ram) besides an art film titled Vatsala directed by Kunal Ranjan. The film has a number of actors from National School Of Drama besides a classical dancer cum south Indian actor Aditi. "I am shooting for the show in Delhi and the patchwork is left. It's a film based on a family adopting a child. I play Rahul, who's a child specialist and falls in love with a girl working for an NGO. It's a nice, sensitive feel good subject to work on and is made for people who like serious cinema," points out Diwakar who has done seven films so far (including Don and King of Bollywood to name a few). Vatsala will have a commercial release and will be aimed for the film festivals as well. So what keeps the actor take up television and film offers at the same time? "I get creative satisfaction out of movies but they don't seem to be pouring in regularly. Television provides for regular inflow of money but the hours of work are taxing. The shows I am doing these days are pretty unique in terms of character and storyline," says Diwakar who doing ad films which keeps him busy for all the thirty days of the month adding " In Kuch Apne Kuch Paraye I play a business man and the second eldest son of Raichand family. It's a male oriented story with a difference. While in Ravan I play Ram and I've never done a mythological show and the fight scenes between Ram and Ravan were done in a unique fashion. Here's hoping he finally gets to make a mark for himself soon as an actor.
