She is cute, sweet, and extremely adorable. Meet Nehalaxmi Iyer, who creates magic with her charm in Ishqbaaaz as Soumya.

Recently, as she was rushing between her shots, we caught up with Neha to chat.

“Since the team is young, we have a gala time shooting together. I am so happy that viewers are enjoying our show and it is slowly picking up in numbers. With the current track also giving important to our story (hers and Rudra), I couldn’t have been in a better space,” she quipped.

Having an ensemble cast consisting of so many people, we quizzed her if there is any competition between them. Flaunting that sugary smile, Neha said, “I am someone who does her work and goes home. The team is also very sorted, that believes in keeping a healthy environment rather than bitching and gossiping. Since I know Surbhi (Chandna) from Qubool Hai days, we share our room and have a fun time together. The boys are also very sweet.”

The actress, who is a little on the plumper side, averred that she has no apprehension about her size and is glad that the industry is opening up to overweight actors. “I love myself the way I am and thankfully the makers do it too (laughs). My character is strong and gives apt answer to anyone who tries to demean her.  I am beautiful the way I am and so is Soumya. I am so happy that we have producers and writers who don’t make all overweight people into comic roles.”

And lastly stating that it is like a homecoming for her working with Four Lions, Neha said, “Although Ishqbaaaz took some time to shoot off, I think the wait was worth it. Each and every character in the show is well backed and being comfortable with the team, I feel almost like home.”

All the best!!!
