You won't believe what Shabir Ahluwalia did on his first audition with Balaji Telefilms

There is an interesting story behind Shabir Ahluwalia bagging his first role on the small screen.

MUMBAI: Shabir Ahluwalia is currently seen as Abhi Mehra in Ekta Kapoor's popular drama series Kumkum Bhagya. The actor is seen opposite Sriti Jha in the show and their on-screen pairing has done wonders.

The show is successfully running on the small screen for many years now and is still one of the most popular shows of the small screen.

Speaking about Shabir’s acting career, he had an interesting start. He gave his first audition at Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Telefilms.

The actor was just 20-years-old when he gave his first audition at Balaji Telefilms. He had no idea what was going to happen next. Shabir landed in a problem as he was not able to remember the lines during the audition. A frustrated Shabir could not take the pressure and he started uttering bad words in front of the camera.

Shabir was very sure that he will not get selected after what he did. However, things worked in his favour and he bagged a negative lead role.

The actor bagged the role in Hip Hip Hurray and was highly appreciated for his performance. Later, he went on to bag a bunch of negative roles in Ekta's hit drama series like Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhii Bahu Thi, Kahin Toh Hoga, Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, Kya Haadsa Kya Haqeeqat, among others.

Shabir has come a long way in his career with a number of hit shows to his credit.
