Previously, we saw how Nehmat keeps mum when Sartaj introduces her to everyone as his lady love. She keeps silence purely to protect the marital alliance of Ekam and Harleen.

Harleen believes that Nehmat and Sartaj are in love but Ekam refuses to believe it. 

Thus he randomly announces their engagement. 

He will thus challenge Nehmat’s love for him.
