Rahul Vohra of Swades fame in Lakhon Mein Ek

Yesterday (1 September 2012) Tellychakkar.com reported about Haji Ali Abrar directing an episodic of Star Plus’ Lakhon Mein Ek, produced by Big Synergy. We now hear that the critically acclaimed Director Manish Jha wil be the next to be part of the inspiring series. Manish Jha who won the Jury Prize for the Best Short Film at the 2002 Cannes Film Festival for ‘A Very Very Silent Film’ and has also been appreciated for his work in <em>Mathrubhoomi – A Nation Without Women</em> will be directing one of the upcoming episodes of the series on Star Plus.

Makarand turns man-eater on 'CID'

You last saw him in a song sequence in <em>Swades</em>. Now, Makarand Deshpande is ready to shed his mendicant robes and become a cannibal on Sony's Friday thriller <em>CID</em>. Makarand will play a director of TV serials on two episodes that air on 29 July and 5 August. The man, incidentally, is also a cannibal on the prowl. While the cannibalistic acts on the two episodes will not be graphic, and the action will be 'all in the suggestions', one of the cops in the <em>CID</em> team herself will find herself trapped in Makarand's snare.

'Lagan's' Guran turns photographer in 'Hotel Kingston'

Rajesh Vivek, one of Ashutosh Gowariker's favourite character artistes, makes his first telly appearance as a maverick Photographer in Star One's <em>Hotel Kingston</em>. Vivek, who is shown staying in the Hotel, is roped in by the staff to cover the engagement ceremony of Govind Sahi (owner of the Hotel) and Devyani, along with the engagement of Shelly Sahai and Nick. Rajesh Vivek was first noticed as the villain in Shekhar Kapoor's <em>Joshilay</em> starring Anil Kapoor and Sunny Deol. He went on to do a host of other roles in popular films like <em>Tridev</em>.
