Although TV shows are women centric, men play their ‘pati parmeshwar’ and that gives them a much stronger weightage. A hero definitely has a lot of responsibility when it comes to carrying a show on his strong shoulders.

So here are the nominations for the category of the Best Actor in a Lead Role in the 13th Indian Telly Awards (alphabetically).

Gautam Rode as Saraswatichandra (Saraswatichandra) has surely reached a high point. The ideal beta, pati and bhai, Saras is the epitome of perfection. And with Gautam also a similar person in real life, he looks close to real in the show. His unconditional love for his wife and mother also makes him a darling.

He made a comeback on TV and took over it completely. Yes, Karan Patel as Raman Kumar Bhalla in Yeh Hai Mohabbatein became a favourite overnight. Karan’s portrayal of a man who is in constant loggerheads with his wife Ishita has struck a chord with the audience. The hot headed and impulsive character although has a soft heart when it comes to his children.

The powerhouse of talent Mohit Raina as Shiva (Devon Ke Dev Mahadev) needs no introduction. This man has surely brought a new trend in mythological serials. The model is so perfect with his expressions, emotions and body language of Shiva that you cannot imagine anyone else in his place.

Rajat Tokas in Jodha Akbar showcases two emotions of Emperor Akbar. On one side he is a ruthless warrior and on the other a loving husband. His love for his wife Jodha has gone down in history. Rajat although is an introvert in real life, he surely knows how to light up the TV screen with his acts.

He weaved in his magic so well with the character that the world now says that Saurabh Raaj Jain was born to play Krishna in Mahabharat. With his mysterious smile and naughty glint, he passed on some of the best teachings of life. Krishna is a character that held the story all along and actually decided on the fate of every character.

Having moved from his chocolate boy image, Shaheer Sheikh took the world for surprise as the warrior prince Arjuna in Mahabharat. From being the able archer to the man split between dharm and relationship. Added to that, Shaheer gave the girls sleepless nights with ample exposure of his fit body.
