Post his last show, Viraasat, apna Amarr Mihir Upadhyay has not been seen much on the idiot box these days. Notwithstanding, the actor is breaking new ground by producing Hindi and Bhojpuri films along with wife Hetal under their banner-Friday Films..

"I'm co-producing a Bhojpuri film Babua Hamar with Udit Narayan. Earlier, we approached Ravi Kissen to play the lead but he was too busy with other projects so we zeroed on superstar Vijay and Monalisa in the lead roles. The shooting is almost over and we're working on the post production requirements. It'll be released in the first week of February next year. I'm also producing a Bollywood flick with BR Films. However, that project will take some time as we're in a process of finalizing lead actors."

Elaborating on the storyline of the Bhojpuri film, the actor says, "It's a family drama with a lot of humour and emotions."

The buzz goes that Amarr has approached Amitabh Bachchan and Rani Mukherji to portray lead roles in his Bollywood flick. He says, "I did meet Mr. Bachchan and he liked the concept of the film. We're in the process of finalizing dates for the same. However, I have not finalized any other actors."

The couple also has plans to produce television shows. He says, "We're planning to produce three television soaps. The work is still going on and Raju Joshi, who's the scriptwriter for Kyunki is writing for us."

Any new shows on the cards? "After Viraasat, I did receive some good offers of daily soaps but didn't accept them; as I want to do something innovative," quips Amarr.
