Veteran actor Ankur Nayyar is now on a break after he quit Channel V’s Sport Academy show Humse Hai Life, a month and half ago. “I never plan about the future for I always believe in going with the flow,” he avers. What went wrong with the above show, we ask. “I was not comfortable with certain creative decisions on the track with my boxing coach and led me to put down my papers, ” he replies. Do you feel that Channel V platform (music and youth) is good for fiction show? “The channel and production house have thrown a series of success parties, so that speaks for itself. And let’s face it, it would be unfair to compare the channel with other GECs ( Zee, Star Plus and Colors etc ), but take it from me that in some years down the line they will be right there,” he adds. Ankur, who first tasted success with Kashmeer years ago and went on to do several other shows like Reth, Left Right Left and Yahaan Main in Ghar Ghar Kheli, is among the few actors who has not yet migrated to the non-fiction genre. “Honesty, I have not really got any interesting offers till yet. If given a chance, I would love to do an action adventure or a song and dance variety format rather than Bigg Boss for I don’t think I am cut out for sitting in one place and gossiping for three long months,” he observes. Even as far as fiction goes, Ankur does admit that it may be because he has not got his due as compared to others, he is not inclined to do other genres at the moment. “But, I regard my career as having just begun and there is still a long way to go. I have also been lucky to have always got work,” concedes Ankur. Apart from TV, Ankur has also done a few films, his last outing being Singham. “I was very fortunate to have been chosen by Rohit Shetty for his Rs 100 crore project. And yes, working with Prakash Raj was a learning curve.” However he does admit that his role was not much to talk about. “I don’t think I contributed anyway to the film’s success,” he remarks.
