Ashwini Dheer’s much-anticipated off-beat show based on the novel of Dharamvir Bharti, titled Gunahon Ka Devta is finally on path to seeing its launch!!                  

Well, as per our last report on Tellychakkar.com, certain creative calls did come in the way of its launch. The show which has been in the making for more than a year now was almost on the verge of not seeing the light. However, there is some respite for the team and actors associated with this larger-than-life show titled Ek Tha Chander Ek Thi Sudha. As we know, versatile actor Rahil Azam along with the three ladies Aditi Tailang, Umang Jain and Shweta Salve will play central roles in the show.  

News coming in is that the shoot of the show which was stalled from the month of April has finally been resumed. However, there seems to be few new developments. 

A reliable source tells us, “Earlier, Ek Tha Chander Ek Thi Sudha was supposed to be a big-ticket show for the channel, planned for a decent duration. But now, the show has been compressed, and will be launched as a mini-series.”                                                          

We hear that the unit had already shot a major chunk of the show in outdoor locations of Banaras, Baroda and Kashmir. Now, the team is busy wrapping up the shoot of the show. The buzz is that hardly a week’s shoot remains to wrap up proceedings.  

Ek Tha Chander Ek Thi Sudha, produced by Garima Productions is now expected to launch in January 2015. 

When contacted, Shweta Salve told us, “Yes, you have got it right. We have resumed shoot.” When asked about the restricted format for the show, she said, “It is a creative call, and guess as actors our duty is to do our job.” 

Umang Jain told us, “It has been a long wait for sure. But as they say, good things take a long time to come.” 

Producer Ashwini Dheer told us, “I do not want to comment on this. It will be good if you can talk to the channel. All I can say is that I am wrapping up shoot for Ek Tha Chander Ek Thi Sudha soon.”

 When inquired about the show getting modified into a finite series, the Producer said, “This show is based on a novel, so it always was a finite show. You can talk to the channel for more details.” 

When contacted, Rahil Azam said, “I am really happy that things fell in place for the show. As an actor, I always pick up shows which compliment my calibre, and each time it is tougher for me to pick up an even better one. Hence, I am always at risk. This show was indeed a risk as it had a long wait of a year. In this one year wait, I can certainly tell that I had the pleasure of working with one of the most passionate directors in Indian TV/films in Ashwini Dheer.” 

As we know, Life OK has had a tough time in the last few months with most of their new launches (Laut Aao Trisha, Pukaar – Call for the Hero, Ajeeb Dastaan Hai Yeh) not gaining numbers on the rating chart. We now wonder if Ek Tha Chander Ek Thi Sudha could have made a difference to the channel’s GRP if it had been launched on time.

 We tried calling the channel spokesperson to get more details on the show, but did not get any revert.  

Let’s hope that Life OK gets a massive faced-lift with this filmy representation on the popular novel…
