The world is aware of the significance of ‘Jersey number 10’ when it comes to cricket.
Yes, it’s the holy number of none other than the God of cricket, Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar. Every cricket lover would crave to hit the pitch wearing the magical number on the back.
And the yearning was witnessed recently in the teammates of Box Cricket League’s Ahmedabad Express team.
Vikas Sethi and Manav Gohil, got into a competitive mood when the team was up for deciding who will wear which numbers. Both being ardent fans of Sachin were eyeing the number 10.
So who managed to get it finally?
Well, there’s another interesting story to it.
Shares a source from the team, “The two decided to captain a team and play a match as a challenge. Whoever managed to win would automatically get to don the number 10 jersey.”
And the match was won by Vikas, giving him the right to wear his favourite player’s jersey number.
Shared Vikas, “It was a friendly thing, nothing serious (laughs). Of course anyone who is into cricket dreams of donning the number 10 jersey. Thankfully my team won and I got it.”
Talking further about BCL, he averred, “I think it was one of the greatest experiences. Although it was all in fun, once you start playing, the competitive spirit does get the better of you. Since girls were also playing it, the game became a perfect combination of glam and cricket. I am sure viewers are enjoying the show a lot.”
