Host Munish Makhija who is doing the reality show Cash Cab recently met with an accident. Cash Cab requires the host to drive a cab and test the general knowledge of his passengers who in turn win a cash prize. Informs Shalini, Programming Head UTV Bindass, “Manish met with an accident on Friday and is currently recovering from the shock. After having dropped the passengers, Manish was speaking to the camera placed infront of him and suddenly a truck coming from the opposite side accidently hit the cab. The cab then hit the tree but fortunately the crew and the production unit was around and they immediately rushed to Manish’s rescue. There is nothing to worry about and Manish is doing absolutely fine.” Isn’t the probability of an accident always high on a show where a driver speaks to his passengers in the backseat? Shalini answers, “The production unit covers him while he is driving which minimises the possibility of any mishap. A mishap can take place anytime with anyone, it is just that the time wasn’t good for us.” Talking about the future of the show, Shalini says, “Right now we have not decided on anything as we are waiting for Manish to recover completely. Our future course of action will be decided in the coming two weeks. Till then we are not sure as to what will happen to the show.” We wish Manish a speedy recovery.
