Cyrus Sahukar --- the man who would be kingpin

Watch out for Cyrus Sahukar! He is the most likely candidate to replace Bhaktiar Irani in Sony's Batliwalla House No. 43; he will also take on the sole responsibility of hosting Zee's long-delayed Business Baazigar, with Sandhya Mridul opting out of the show. This is not the first time that this VJ has done a mega show, he's hosted MTV Roadies before. Moreover, he will also host MTV's Kya Baat Hai and if this isn't enough, he is also going to host a special episode of Sony's Fame Gurukul. Phew...that's a long list...
"Yes, I have a very tight schedule nowadays but once my shows go on air, everything will fall into place," says Cyrus, who is busy shooting for Zee's long awaited Business Baazigar, that was supposed to go on air in February 2005, ran into bad weather recently when Sandhya Mridul, the co-host on the show, backed out due to date issues. "Let me once and for all clear the air about Sandhya. There were reports that I had a fight with her on the sets of Business...but it's rubbish!" says Cyrus with a sigh. The show will be on air in three to four weeks and the target of shooting six episodes by then seems to be high on Cyrus' agenda. Cyrus sees Sandhya's exit as a chance for him to carry the show on his shoulders --- a huge responsibility, given that the stakes are high. "Its going to be a rocking show and I have shot for one episode and I tell you it's looking really great. It is a lot of fun, making people's dreams come true. It's also an enterprising show, giving people a chance to do something beyond their mundane life," says Cyrus, who seems very excited about hosting it. When asked why the channel took so long to finally air, Cyrus says, "They wanted to do a good job with it. They have a 30 camera setup and it is backed by Aditya Birla....I hope people will watch the show. People have worked really hard on it." MTV's Kya Baat Hai, which will deal with youth issues, is a show that will have a live satellite uplink with Bangalore, Delhi and Mumbai and will deal with problems relating to the teens. "Kya...is a very audience friendly interactive show and over the years I have realized that I am best doing these kinds of shows. I like meeting people and frankly I can be myself. That is very important for me," says Cyrus. When asked about his new project on Sony, Batliwalla..., Cyrus refuses to comment. "I don't want to talk about it because I have still not taken a final decision. It will take four to five days to decide what to do. But I am definitely considering doing the show. It is a good opportunity and really I am looking forward to be part of it," says Cyrus. Talking about his presence in all the leading channels, Cyrus says, "MTV is special, but I loved working with Zee and Sony. I started with MTV when I was only 18 and that's a long association. It's like home," says Cyrus, who has started doing up his house and in the little time that he has between shoots, he devotes to his home. But looking at the schedule that this man is keeping, his plans for his home surely will take time to realise!
