Now, here is some serious news. So, do pay attention. Costume designer Neerushaa Nikhat’s studio in Goregaon got robbed today early morning (13 February 2012). For information, Neerushaa is designing clothes for renowned shows on television, namely, Mahadev (Life OK) and Veer Shivaji (Colors), Kuch To Log Kahenge (Sony Entertainment), Rajan Shahi’s upcoming show Jamuna Paar on Imagine, amongst others. She recently won awards for her costumes in Prithviraj Chauhan (Star Plus) and Jhansi Ki Rani (Zee TV).

“The robbery which took place between 3 and 5 am today appears to be an inside job as the thieves knew exactly what they were looking for. They only stole finished clothes, 25 costumes for various ongoing and soon to be launched shows, and 50 sarees for label sale in market (Sagars Jashan). I have lost outfits for Kritika Kamra, Rukshar Rehmani (Kuch Toh Log Kahenge), Kamya Punjabi and Amita Nangia (Jamuna Paar ), etc. The damage must be around 25 lakhs.”
She further goes on to narrate, “The robbers locked my staff member in the adjacent room where he was sleeping and had come with huge polythene bags, some of which were found at the site.”

Quite a sad incident, we must say. So how are you planning to make up for the loss? “Apart from the money angle, the other problem is delivering orders to the clients. We all know that the biggest issue in daily shows is sticking to a time frame. The shoot is on right now, and we do have a backup plan but yes, now to cover up the loss we have to work day and night. ”

However, Neerusha is hopeful that the police department will nab the culprits, “They have been very cooperative and have already taken two of my staff members for interrogation,” ends Neerusha.
