MUMBAI :Sasural Simar Ka 2 is a sequel to the original title of the same name that gained a lot of popularity for its twists and turns and this season started with Gitanjali Devi entrusting Simar Bhardwaj with the task of finding an ideal bride for her grandson. Simar's quest ends when she meets her namesake, Simar Narayan, who dreams of making it big as a singer.

The show that started on a grand note last year is working wonders. 

The lead cast includes Avinash Mukherjee, Radhika Muthukumar, Karan Sharma and Tanya Sharma. Sasural Simar Ka 2 is constantly witnessing interesting twists and turns in the story.

Sumit Bhardwaj plays the role of Samar Pratap on the show and is best known for appearing as Neil Sareen in his debut series Shastri Sisters on Colors TV. His other shows include Beyhadh, Ayushman Bhava and Qayamat Ki Raat. 

TellyChakkar got in touch with the actor to talk about his character, the OTT space and the kind of roles he would like to do in the future.

Would you say that you have played characters that lie in the mixed shade? 

Yes, I am actually lucky in that I got the opportunity to play different characters. All of them were super different from each other and as an actor, it is always challenging. 

Yours is a dynamic character according to the fans. How would you describe him?

I believe, if fans think, then that’s the verdict. I don’t want to describe it and ruin their imagination. I believe it’s open to interpretation and fans have great analysis.

How has your experience been shooting the show till now? 

It has been quite the experience, and it was just amazing how the cast and crew were always supportive. It was a good environment and I believe it's true like my mother always says, think of good things and good things will happen.

With the world of OTT expanding, there is no limit to the kind of content that one can create or watch. Would you like to explore the medium of OTT? 

Of course, definitely. I would like to choose a good script for myself and work on it. I am an actor and I like to act when the cameras are on me. I think my love and my passion for the camera is more than my love for anything else in this beautiful world.

Sumit Bharadwaj made his debut with Shashtri Sisters on Colors and was seen in the role of Samar Pratap on the show Sasural Simar Ka 2.
