MUMBAI: Navin Prabhakar is one such artist who doesn't need any introduction.

He is fondly known for his participation in The Great Indian Laughter Challenge.

His signature dialogue "Pehchaan Kaun?" became a huge hit back then and fans still remember him for it.

Navin has come a long way in his career by not only proving himself as an established comedian but also as an actor.

We all know how comedians are trying to break their image and do something totally different and unexpected.

Navin is one of them who has proved himself as a stellar comedian as well as a great actor.

TellyChakkar got in a fun chat with Navin who spoke at length about his journey, his life as a comedian, and much more.

Was it difficult for you to break the image of being a comedian after you picked up other roles?

It is not challenging for me. Being a mimicry artist, I enjoy every aspect of cinema. I worked on the stage and worked a lot there. I went all over the globe for shows and gained a lot of experience. As a singer, as an anchor, as a standup comedian, as a mimicry artist, after doing all this, if I am having some time and getting offers as an actor then why miss an opportunity. It wasn't challenging as such. My way of working has increased. It is so interesting.

How has your journey been so far?

My journey started from the cycle, then bus, followed by auto to AC car and then luxury car. This was my journey from a two-wheeler to a four-wheeler. I respect my journey a lot because it is a learning process and growing yourself within. These things have inspired me a lot. My journey is not that interesting.

Did you find any changes in the trend of comedy compared to what was there during your time?

You always have to welcome changes. It keeps growing with time. There were comedians that had their own trends 15 to 20 years ago, then we came, and currently, there's a whole bunch of other comedians. When someone contributes something new, you have to welcome them and learn. It is very inspiring. After us, Kapil Sharma, Bharti Singh, Sunil Grover, and all these comedians are such mind-blowing changes in the world of comedy. Whenever they meet me during the live shows, Sunil Grover always praises me and my work. When such talented artists praise us, we feel that we are contributing something to the field of laughter.

Navin has starred in movies like Veerappan, Khiladi 786, Phata Poster Nikla Hero, 7 Hours To Go, among others.

The talented actor-comedian is also known for his performances in shows like Crime Patrol, Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hai, Maddam Sir, among others.

He has also shared screen space with South legend Rajinikanth in the movie Darbar which was released in the year 2020.
