Abhishek Awasthi is presently on ‘cloud nine’ after gaining a very good response for his Dabangg character of Gabru Singh in Life OK’s Kaisa Yeh Ishq Hai…Ajab Sa Risk Hai (Siddhant Cinevisions).
The actor who had a limited fan following on Twitter earlier, is now a heartthrob on the social networking site, and has literally doubled up his fan base in no time.
Says Abhishek, “I had a very less number of followers on Twitter before Gabru Singh happened to me. But this character was an overnight hit, and I was appreciated for this role. In no time, my followers increased and today, I have over 16,000 followers on Twitter.”
Abhishek goes on to say, “Everything about the character was appreciated, whether it be the look, the Haryanvi dialect that he followed or his mannerisms. I am happy to have finally got recognition as an actor.”
Abhishek had just wrapped up shoot for Kaisa Yeh Ishq Hai.. when he grabbed his next role on TV. The guy will now be seen in Frames’ next for SAB TV, titled Tu Mere Agal Bagal Hai (reported by Tellychakkar.com).
Talking on his new character, the actor adds, “It is a very promising character. The guy is a hopeless singer, trying to use his prowess in singing wherever he can. I am looking forward to the launch of this show, as it is a fiction show in the format of a non-fiction setup.”
