MUMBAI: In a year already marked by several high-profile celebrity break-ups, yet another well-known television couple has confirmed their separation.
Popular actors Mugdha Chaphekar and Ravish Desai have officially announced their decision to part ways after nearly a decade of marriage.
Mugdha, widely recognised for her role in Zee TV’s long-running hit Kumkum Bhagya, has been a familiar face on Indian television for years.
Her husband, Ravish Desai, is also a celebrated name, known for his performances in shows such as Ek Nanad Ki Khushiyon Ki Chaabi – Meri Bhabhi and Satrangi Sasural, as well as digital appearances in acclaimed web series like Made In Heaven and Scoop.

The couple first crossed paths on the sets of Satrangi Sasural in 2014. A real-life love story soon blossomed, leading to their engagement on 30th January 2016 and marriage later that year on 16th December.
They were often admired for their chemistry both on and off screen, becoming a beloved pair in the eyes of fans.
However, in a heartfelt social media post, Ravish shared the news of their separation, revealing that they have been living apart for over a year and have now mutually decided to end their marriage.
"After much contemplation and thought, Mugdha and I decided to part ways as husband and wife to pursue our own paths. It's been more than a year now. We have had a beautiful journey together—one filled with love, friendship and respect—and that will always remain a cherished part of our lives," he wrote.
He went on to request kindness and privacy during this personal chapter, stating, “We request our beloved fans, well-wishers, and the media to be kind and supportive and give us the privacy we need to heal. Kindly do not believe in any false stories and statements. Thank you for your love and support.”
In a move to maintain discretion, Ravish disabled the comments on his post. Mugdha has not yet issued a public statement regarding the matter.
As the couple embarks on separate journeys, it is undoubtedly a difficult and emotional time for both.
Fans across the industry have expressed their support and respect for their decision, acknowledging the maturity and grace with which they’ve handled this transition.
