Well known actress Manasi Parekh is now making her presence felt as a singer too.
The actress, who is also a trained singer, recently launched her own single with singer friend Jahnvi Srimankar.

The song is of a thumri named Saawariya that was originally sung by actor Govinda's mother. It originates from Hindustani classical tradition and has been fused with electronic musical instruments in this single.

The shooting for the same was done in Lonavla (near Mumbai) and choreographer Shampa who has been associated with Colors’ Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa choreographed the same. Interestingly, Manasi will also make a special appearance in the song.

When we contacted Manasi, she said, “I had been working on this for three months and it’s finally out.” Talking about the response of her single so far, she avers, “It’s been very good and it’s growing. In fact, my friends from the industry like Neeti Mohan and Kavita Kaushik have loved it.”

Does this mean you’re looking at playback singing as the next career option? “I’d love to do playback singing if it comes my way, but I will not go out of my way looking for it.”

Talking about her future plans, Manasi tells us, “Jhanvi and I are independent singers as we do not have a backing of a music company but we plan to cut a few other songs. We will start working on them sometime next month.”

We wish you luck and success… Manasi!!!
