It is hard to believe that actress Sanam Jung, currently seen in Mohabbat Subha Ka Sitara Hai airing on Zindagi every Monday to Saturday at 8.00 pm, never intended to be an actress.  The talented actress is actually quite academically inclined and intended to pursue a career in banking post her MBA. However, destiny had quite another path planned for her. While pursuing her MBA, she entered the world of glamour as a VJ to earn extra money. But before she knew it, she was offered her first show Dil e Naadan and her acting career took off.

Today with 11 shows under her belt, in a short span of time this destiny’s child is a well-established actress and is also the host of popular morning show ‘Jago Pakistan Jago’ where she has interviewed Bollywood stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol & John Abraham. What a loss it would have been to the entertainment industry if Sanam had become a banker as planned.

Indian fans can watch her acting prowess in her current show Mohabbat Subha Ka Sitara Hai a modern day Cinderella story, of an orphan girl, Romaisa finding her way to true love. The young actress received much critical acclaim for her acting skills and performance in the show.  Mohabbat Subha Ka Sitara Hai based on the novel Ye Jo Subha Ka Ik Sitara Hai by Umera Ahmed is the story of Romaisa, an orphan, who lives with her cruel and money-minded aunt. A rich businessman, Nabeel (Mikaal Zulfiqar), falls in love with Romaisa and marries her. Nabeel's family - except for his younger brother, Zeeshan (Adeel Hussain) ill-treats Romaisa. Misfortune strikes Romaisa again when Nabeel dies in a car crash few months after marriage. Romaisa now a widow is ill-treated by her in-laws and is pressurised to marry Nabeel's younger brother, Zeeshan when they find out that she is expecting his child and that Nabeel has willed all his wealth to Romaisa.
