Bindaas and bubbly in nature, the cute looking Gulki Joshi has always preferred to essay roles which are distinguished.

Seen in Phir Subah Hogi standing up against the tradition of Rai and prostitution in Madhya Pradesh, she is now seen taking the viewers by surprise with her performance in Life OK’s Nadaan Parinde (Scaling Heights Productions).

In conversation with Gulki, she shared her experience being a part of the show.

“I was on a sabbatical for seven months. I was offered roles but I cannot play clichéd characters which are very vulnerable. In fact, I cannot even imagine myself doing a saas-bahu drama. Phir Subah Hogi was different and so is my new show Nadaan Parinde.”

“The production houseoffered me the role in October (2013) on a condition that I had to shift to Chandigarh as they planned to shoot there. But I was not comfortable shifting and gave it a pass. I am a believer in destiny and when I was offered the role once again in December, I thought destiny would have something good in store for me. When I heard the concept I was mesmerized,” she added.

Talking about shooting in Chandigarh which she was initially very apprehensive about, she stated, “It is fun shooting here. We all have been given kothris to stay in and a huge dining and kitchen area where we gather. It is all a madhouse when we dine.”

Gulki shed some light on how she is as mischievous as her character on the show and also on her chemistry with her co-actors.

She laughed as she expressed, “Tanu (Tanushree Kaushal) and I are very close to each other, so much so that people feel that we even look alike. Sometimes we say the same sentences at the same time. My equation with Karam (Rajpal) is the same as our on-screen characters, Sameer and Meher. In fact, we are the most mischievous people in the team. But Nikkhil (Chaddha) is someone who is much focused and is the serious one out of the lot.”

Gulki, may you shine in the role of Meher!!!
