Rahul Raj Singh, accused of abetting the suicide of Pratyusha Banerjee can heave a sigh of relief for another week.

Today (18 April), Rahul Raj Singh was summoned for a hearing at the Bombay High Court. After a prolong court proceeding, the court announced relief for Rahul till 25 April.

Shared a source, “The court granted a breather to Rahul for a week post which another hearing has been sanctioned. But he will have to appear at the police station everyday till 23 April for the customary questioning.”

As readers would know, Pratyusha hanged herself at her Goregaon residence on 1 April. Her parents filed a case against Rahul accusing him of physical abuse and misusing her money. They blamed him solely for the death of their daughter.

On the complaint of the parents, the Bangur Nagar police station booked Rahul under sections 306 (abetment of suicide), 504, 506 (criminal intimidation), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) of the IPC. But Rahul's lawyer managed to save him from arrest after getting him an interim bail.

Rahul, who was suffering from depression and showing tendencies of suicidal, was also admitted at a hospital for 12 Days. He was discharged late night on 16 April. The next day, he gave a statement in the media stating that he was innocent and waiting for the judgment."
