Raju Kher, the veteran actor will soon enter Colors’ Beintehaa as Rehaan’s (Nandish Sandhu) father. In a conversation with Tellychakkar.com, Kher explains as to why he took up the role. “This is a very different show, as not many Muslim concepts are on air. Also, when I was offered this role, I enquired with my mother and wife about it. They being avid watchers of television gave me a green signal to take up this role in Beintehaa. Now I will be watched on TV by my mother and wife (smiles).” Talking about the role, the actor who is usually busy with his movies states, “I took this role as it had something different to offer. I have been keeping busy with my movie assignments, and have not done a TV show for two years now. It’s good to be associated with Colors; I have already appeared in the channel’s The Anupam Kher Show. In Beintehaa, I play a Muslim Unani doctor who is also Rehaan’s father. The man is full of life and chirpy. However, his grand kids call him by the name of Grumpy, and he dislikes being called by that name by anyone else.” On his look in the show, the man avers, “I will be seen in Pathani suits with a cap on the head. I have already started shooting, and it is fun on sets.” Grumpy will have a very good relationship with his son Rehaan. “They will be more like friends, sharing a lot of things between them. Grumpy loves his grand kids too a lot.” Raju Kher who was last seen in Sony TV’s Love Marriage Ya Arranged Marriage will play a long-running role in Beintehaa. “I will be on air very soon, and I will want you to not miss seeing me on TV,” urges the man. We wish you all the very best!!
